ThisEra User Agreement

1. License to the shelf
ThisEra grants a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the iOS app as a free local study shelf for United States development eras. The built-in catalog, UI chrome, and nested reading features are provided for lawful personal study on devices you control. ThisEra does not create a user account.
2. Who should use it
Use ThisEra only if you can accept these terms. It is intended for adults studying history material they already possess. Do not rely on process cards as graded coursework, legal counsel, political campaign guidance, or medical advice. Do not upload unlawful content, attempt to extract biometric face identity from chapter photos, or harass others through figure talk.
3. Your study records
Claimed eras, accepted process cards, outcomes, corrections, preferences, Ask-this-era text, and optional chapter stills remain under your control on this iPhone. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for any content you choose to send after consent. Deleting the app removes ThisEra's on-device shelf data; we cannot recover it from a ThisEra server.
4. No In-App Purchases on this tip
On this reviewed tip there are no In-App Purchases: no StoreKit catalog, no consumable Ink Marks, and no paid unlock for looks or figure talk. If Apple billing ever appears in a future build, Apple's terms and refund process would apply to those charges.
5. Apple frameworks
When you grant permissions, Apple frameworks may process camera frames, photo-library picks, microphone audio, speech recognition, and Photos library writes according to Apple's rules and your system settings. ThisEra does not replace Apple's privacy controls.
6. Optional DeepSeek turns
era.look and figure-talk turns that call DeepSeek run only after Consent Folio approval for that era (Let ThisEra read). Keep the shelf only keeps studying local. You agree not to submit content you are not allowed to share, and you understand model output can be incomplete or wrong — review any drafted process card before you accept it. Figure personas speak in character for study; they are not live historical persons.
7. Changes and availability
Features may change, pause, or depend on network conditions for optional AI turns. We may update these terms; the Updated date on this page will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms for later use.
8. Intellectual property
ThisEra's name, shelf chrome, and bundled era catalog are provided for use inside the app. You keep rights in the personal notes and chapter photos you create, subject to the licenses needed for optional DeepSeek turns you authorize.
9. Disclaimers
Process cards, look drafts, and figure replies are study aids only. They do not certify academic credit, predict exam scores, or replace primary sources. To the extent allowed by law, ThisEra is provided as-is without warranties about uninterrupted AI availability or learning outcomes. Nothing here limits non-waivable consumer rights.
